Mark Cheramie Walz to Speak at PETE&C Conference

New Britain, PA - Partner Mark Cheramie Walz of Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams is a featured speaker at the Pennsylvania Educational Technology Expo and Conference (PETE&C), a multi-day summit for educational, networking and award programs focused on technology in the educational field. Attendees come from a variety of perspectives: teachers, administrators, technology directors, school board members and more. The event will be held February 10-13 at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, PA.
Cheramie Walz’s session, scheduled for Wednesday, February 13 at 8:00 A.M., is entitled “Making Sense of the COPPA Law.” In it, he will provide a detailed analysis of COPPA – the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act - and what it means for educators in the classroom as they adopt apps and websites subject to the law. The session will also help educators know when parent permission is required and how to streamline that process.
Cheramie Walz dedicates his work to the use of technology in education and advising practical solutions that reduce liability while harnessing the benefits of new technology. He also leads the firm’s education technology practice, which advises more than 100 school districts and intermediate units on all aspects of technology including 1:1 devices, data security, social media use, website accessibility, and the use of drones in education.
