Sweet Stevens Featured in 2021 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers

New Britain, PA – Attorneys from Sweet, Stevens, Katz & Williams LLP were named to the 2021 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list, a rating service of attorneys from over 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The 2021 edition features Ellis H. Katz, who has been named annually to Super Lawyers since 2009, and Rising Stars Thomas C. Warner and Jason D. Fortenberry. Warner has been recognized from 2015-2021 and Fortenberry from 2018-2021.
Ellis H. Katz, of counsel, is an authority on private and public sector labor law. He represents school districts and municipalities, guiding clients on employee/student discipline issues, collective bargaining, grievance and interest arbitration. He has taught graduate classes in labor relations at Penn State University and has served as the Assistant Counsel for the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.
Thomas C. Warner, partner, represents Pennsylvania school districts and entities in matters of special education litigation. He also provides in-service training to districts on defensible special education programming and confidentiality/disclosure issues involving education records. He is a frequent presenter on special education legal issues.
Jason D. Fortenberry, associate, advocates for schools and districts on special education issues, including Section 504 matters, Americans with Disability Act violations, and other disability discrimination claims. Previously, he represented students and their families on such matters, and brings a dual perspective to these cases.
The Super Lawyers list recognizes no more than 5 percent of attorneys in each state. Rising Stars recognizes 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state who are under the age of 40 or in practice for less than 10 years. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
